People moan about rust, you just get in and sort it,VERY impressed and following your progress is an inspiration to many I'am sure.
I note that new rear replacement panel has the recess for the vw badge,is the early panel no longer made?

Yes you will sort it as you have proved so far ,there are always people ready to be a little negitive over a resto like you are doing, look at this as motivation to do the best you can, please no more serious injuries.

My fav thread, inspiring! I've just got a rusty B reg GTI and it's bad but after seeing what you've achieved it's given me an anything can be fixed attitude much to the amusement of my fellow workers who make fun of my rusty golf saying it'll never get back on the road.

Have a great Christmas and look forward to seeing some more updates

Amazing patience you have, one new shell nearly complete, one of the few people who will honestly be able to say no rust ...

Mate out of interest what is your favourite method of getting rid of the pesky underseal?

Making an attempt at stripping all mine off to patch a couple of holes and it's being a right pain. Grinder and knotted wire wheel takes forever, resorting to a blowtorch and a sharp knife and paint scraper but it's very hard work.

Any tips before I lose my motivation again?

Oh and admiring your devotion, thanking my lucky stars every photo I look at of yours that most of my rust is all surface stuff!

No easy way mate - my technique of choice is heatgun and paint scrapper then 40 grit flap disc and then wirewheel on drill for non flat surfaces - nearly at the end cant wait :)
