I was just going through some old pics and came across this. Sometimes I wish I'd never touched it and kept it as a great little track car. It was such a lovely fun car to drive back then but the need to go faster always wins!

I think your car has evolved nicely Nick.
It's grown up from a young sproglet track car to a mature racer.
    Keep on going!

although i might stop once you get ideas of fitting an air cooled 911 turbo engine over the rear axle ;)

I remember bouncing ideas off of your mate in Demon Tweeks when this was being built... seems a long time ago now!

I didn't have any problems last season and the car was running on 580 then. It is now on 610 so more ground clearance. Its not at the 40mm regulation lowering limits so I will aim to lower it to get the ride hight back down.

I cant quite believe those brakes, so BIG. Although people talk about 'over-braking' a car.... I don't think that is possible on the front axle when racing - Unless it become impossible to modulate.
What are they from? Touring car? What is the diameter of the rotor?

Looking forward to seeing it sit that low with those 19 inch wheels on. Not sure if the regs will change regarding wheel width. I think 'class A' is 8 inches...?

You'll be stopping quicker than the Seat's Nick
    Big respect for your efforts.

Sam, the wheels are 17" and the discs are 330 ish. Yes they are btcc s2000 brakes. I will not enter the golf in the bag trophy, only as invitation class. I will run my other racer in the vag trophy. Class a. Building an engine for that at the min, all will be revealed soon.

Great thread, and a fantastic car. Be good to see this when complete.

Could you tell me how you have done front door glass with the rubbers? Looks very neat from the photos.

    Many thanks

Are these fenders for 17 inches wheels? If yes, then where did you get them form?

Good work. What diff are you on?

thanks mate, kind of you to say. The windows have no rubber at all. its just an inch of black round the outside of the perspex. i use to run rubber but it was crap, leaked and wind would always full them off. I tried fixing them on but gave up in the end and changed to this current design. It works a treat and looks spot on in my opinion. The windows are just cut to the exact size as the hole and then bolted on to the lip that the rubbers would normally slot over. They don't leak and wind cant get through either. hope that helps.

No they are not just for 17" wheel they will work with wheels right down to 13". They are made by moulds taken from the original Kamei car. They are 500 a set, drop me a pm if you are interested.
