Since the last update made rather a lot of progress...

The dash has been modded and fitted

Been having loads of fun calibrating the new dash to the sensors but 99% is all working spot on. Got a little speedo issue at the mo but should be able to sort later on today.

    Cheers Guys!

Found a few pics of my modded fuse box holder...

Had to raise it by about 40mm to clear the cage.

    She is now road legal!!
Few pics just before the southend test run...

Also made some carbon rear arch protectors
    DSC00297.JPG

Made it about 3miles then got pulled over  "looked like you were warming your tyres to me!" Sorry officer I was just checking my rear wheel bearings! ;)

Feels much more positive to drive, turn in is instant, wheel spin in 3rd and makes al the right sounds!

Was a good night even tho a little quiet, the drive home made up for it! Four 20v's and a mk2 ABF? I call that Pimms O clock!

Very impressive workmaship - love the cage install and attention to detail - It would be good to get this out on the track - I am doing another track day in my mk2 in a few weeks and only live down the road in Herts. You shoudl come along - although you'll fly pass my 16v golf like it's standing still!

    Cheers dude!

Sounds like a plan, been looking forward to getting this back on a race track! Which track are you going to?

I need to set up the suspension and get a feel for her again so I might be able to pop down if I get the rear hub spacers sorted in time.

Looks pretty nails from head on!! I like the fact it goes against the run of the mill track cars by being a 5 door, pulls it off really well.

Isn't that the way they all start!! Hopefully I'll be able to start saving up now and do similar to my mk2 which is currently just a standard valver but lots of plans for abf and track preparing.

I blame it all on cgti!! Too many amazing track car builds!!

Sounds good to me! I've got a mate with an ABF mk2, I'm well impressed with how quick it is. He's going for a 20v now so I know where an ABF conversion is up for grabs if your interested?

If it hadn't been for the build threads on CGTi my golf would probably still be in an undrivable state

I know what you mean, wheels are still way to small which don't help but I kind of like it

a few of the bits and bobs I've been sorting out of late...

    1) Removed silly temporary rear wheel spacers and replaced with the stub axle spacers I made.

    IMG_0194.JPG

    DSCF0100.JPG

    DSCF0102.JPG

Still need to fit supports to the rear beam but need to make em up first.

    2) Sorted revcounter issue...

A3 clocks paid the ultimate sacrifice in the search tho [xx(]

    IMG_0205.JPG

    IMG_0207.JPG

    3) Reconfigured the boost pipes for the N75 valve but needed another pre-throttle boost take off so had to improvise untill I get one welded in...

    IMG_0197.JPG

    IMG_0199.JPG

Don't worry it is only a temporary measure and yes the nut is loctited in so there is no chance of it coming undone

Also had to make up a new intake pipe to turn the HKS SQV into a recirculation SQV but didn't get any pics. Still yet to drive it to find out if the changes have worked but I'm confident I will see the solution to the problem I was encountering.

    4) Still yet to fit these little beauties but I've got to two rebuilt VR front hubs in 4 stud ready to go on with these but need to get the new brake caliper brackets sorted out.

Not sure how i missed this but cracking build there mate.

Rear spacers remind me of the Roma tuning mk1.

    Details, details

Awesome project. With that torque, it must be phenomenal to drive. Was the wide track stuff easy to sort out?

Also, forgive the rude question, but how much was the radiator?
