sounds liek the accumulator to me, this holds system pressurte for a couple hours after you switch the engine off. if its buggered the fuel evapourates in the lines and gives you warm start problems. take all 4 fuel lines out and do the jar test for leaks, but put them as far from engine as possible to prevent them from getting too hot. if there are no leaks and car fires right up when you refit then you have a reasonable confirmation that the accumulator is the problem as you have protected the lines from heat soak. A better test is to get a fuel pressure gauge on it though really, this will tell you if the WUR is ok, the system pressure and also the accumulator
arnau had p.m'ed me about this as i had the same problem, unfortunately i havnt cured mine either as i didnt want to replace owt untill i was certain of the problem,i more or less said the same as you john,i was thinking accumulator and realy need the guages on,but then i looked at the parts that have been replaced and accumulator is one of them im going to try the test mikeh has put up here in #18 cause mine stinks of fuel when started
there was a group buy a while ago look in there and see if anyone who got one lives near you see if they will loan you it,long shot but may help, they got them from the states iirc
hi, thank you... but I am from spain by the way, what does iirc mean? I've read it many times in forums tomorrow afternoon I will be checking all injectors for fuel leaks with my girlfriend and I'll post the results... let's see if we can solve this annoying problem, because i have read in many forums about it, but no one has ever (or I have ever read) come to a solution... at least a solution not pointing to the fuel accumulator...
oh dear, cant just nip to england then yes pleas post the results mate and iirc means if i remember corectly
iirc jejjajjajd ok then, I promise the results, but if not tomorrow.. next week... but I will thank you all!
not yet mate I am going to replace the three coolant temp. senders next week and then check for a leaking injector.. thank you!!!
Do you live anywhere near Manchester as i have a volkswagen KJet fuel pressure testing kit and could help you test it if you want,
