I would do, the ignoring not the murdering, but i've still got a load of her stuff so i'll have to have some contact with her at some point

 

Just keep it formal and to the point, don't get tied up in the emotions of it all. Only speak to her if you really have to and be cold but not necessarily nasty.

Speaking from long and painful experience

You need to bin her mate, and her phone number...at the very least give it to a mate you can trust. When you're feeling a bit lonely late at night you might ring her up for a sob, but you won't ring a mate! When she comes round for her stuff you can tell her how you feel, and have a big serious chat, but at the very least she needs time out to figure out what she wants.

She may come crawling back one day, but make sure it's on your terms, and don't hang around waiting. Get out there and live your life.

At the end of the day, if she doesn't love you back, she isn't the right one, no matter how much you care about her, and you obviously do or you'd have got shot by now. The longer you leave it the worse you'll get trampled.

Hope you didn't buy her an Xmas present!

If you did, take it back and spend the refund money on beer/car bits/dirty birds. Same goes for the ring. Give all your favourite CD's to a mate before she comes round, so you don't get gripped by any feelings of emotional generosity.
