I prefer the flashing tape - you can put it on the outer door skin as well, for even more sound deadening......

Yup the flash tape is great - I done all my door cards with a double layer as I was getting fed up with my 400W rattlin the doors... werchs a effin treat! Cheaper than dynamat - just need to do the inside of the doors and the rear quarters. Road noise with just the door cards done is way way down. :p

do you just stick it from top to top, if you see what i mean, don't stick it from top to top inside the door...

anyone any pics who have done it?

Would be good if you could show us?

Horizontal strips across the door, working from the top down. You'll have to get bitty with it in some places so it fits over window winders, mirror adjusters, door handles etc. - and for some of the more recessed areas of the outer skin.

Yeah I was wondering that, does it work like this. You completely cover the outer door with tape then you cover over the inner door metal so there is tape going over the cut out areas aswell, so when you look at the door you cannot see through it anymore but only see black tape? Surely this could be a problem if you need to do work on the inner door workings in future as you have this flash tape in the way?.

Just cover every bit of sheet steel you can...... If you need to work inside the door you'll need to take the tape off or peel it back. It'll look pretty much like this when you've finished, except without those expensive dynamat logos....

Hmm, I will stencil on my own logos, for that MAX Power feel.

Good for another 7 bhp no doubt.

u cut out the hole and make sure ur speaker mounts into the dynomat i was told!dynomat like the flashing tape reduces vibration thro the panel doesnt it? so in that respect deadening the noise from the outside!

Not quite like a mk4 golf shutting but its nice, not sure on road noise yet, will test out over weekend. Only done the drivers side as yet, as only had that much on the roll.

Will do the rest tomorrow or next weekend! Spot on! [:D] [:D]

Will have to do the rears too at some point!

Did all mine today, stuck the stuff onto the old membranes so that I can get into the door if I need to. Found it easiest to just cover the hole thing in strips, then cut holes from the other side with a stanley knife for the door handles etc, just going round the holes in the old membrane. Gets damn sticky tho, got in a right mess! Best not to do it on a really hot day as its harder to work with, this evenin it was much easier.

Doors sound much better now when closing, just need to take it for a drive to see what road noise is like. Will probably put some more on though at some point, as have loads left on the roll, got a 10m roll, 25cm wide from homebase.

You're not going to get the same sound damping effect if you just stick it on to the old membrane - it should be stuck to the steel......

Anybody put this stuff on a place other than the door? Boot floor for eg? Under the spare wheel? etc...
