Hi hope it hasnt been mentioned before but i am after the trim that runs along the top of the sill in black on mk1 gti. They spoil my motor with all that bubbley rust under the black

The plastic covers that bolt to the bottom of the engine and help prevent cr*p from the road getting on your engine. I believe the diesel mk2s had them as standard!

Most new cars have them and they seem to work a treat. No point building a pretty looking engine bay if it's just going to get dirty after 5 miles!

Isn't the steel VR6 sump obsolete from VAG now?

How about a 2 piece ally/steel sump for the VR6 like the ones you can ge for the 1.8T.

I know you said mk1/mk2 only but lots of VR6's in mk2's with sump clearance issues.

The plastic trim that fits over the wing mirror holes in the passenger door. Mine's got a Polo trim that does not cover all of the large hole.
The rubber elbow in the vacuum line between manifold and servo. Mine's almost worn through where the speedo cable has rubbed on it.
The GTI badges that replace the side repeaters in the front wing. Both of mine have been ripped off at some time and are held on with double sided tape.

What about the mk2 boot protector plastic, mounts on the front edge of the boot, where the pin is.

Have you bothered to check ebay. I saw these not too long ago.

There is a thread on VW Vortex about this as well.

Any news on those big bumper brackets guys? I'd take a good few off your hands straight away. :)

Another thing that might be useful would be some bee sting aerials although not like the later style VW ones with the twisting wire round the outside but the simpler mk2 versions. Just the antennae would be nice as replacing the entire base is not only a hassle but surprisingly expensive for genuine stuff.

Mine is perished and cracked to buggery and i'd imagine many others are too.
