Putting handles, cards and installing window regulator

    Tks leigh,

I did have the mfa clocks on a one way, so I swapped it round and all is well.
    20160628_144529.jpg

I fitted the regulator, wasnt too much of a fuss, but dreading breaking the glass I took my time and the window rubbers were awesome as too the door card clips, i hadnt realised how many were actually missing and fell 9ne short by then end of the day. And a big thanks for showing me they push through. 20160628_114321.jpg

    Driver rear done, no hassle
    20160628_114330.jpg

I spent a good hour and a half trying to work out how to align the door without delving into the honge. After a lot of trial and error, I added a washer to shim to door back. The gap is still quote large but, the door trim only just clears the wing, so with a little improvement I proceeded with the door.

Got the driver door done....THEN WOULDNT YOU KNOW IT!
    20160628_144030.jpg

The lock mechanism was failing, another hour wasted, door card off and found the two screw clamp was loose, so a little kore fettling, and yes Id forgotten the mirror controller too... The rest of the doors were done, as too the door rubbers seated properly and trims put in place.

    Time for a quick wash...

the vacuum reservoir under the wing is only for the aircon system, it helps boost & hold vacuum so the recirculation flap has enough to close and stay closed.

the double nipple thingy on the brake servo pipe is a non-return valve yes, you only need the one. its purpose is to hold vacuum in the servo if the engine cuts out, so you retain servo assistance when coming to a stop

Thanks for a confirmation of my findings... thats why my fuel economy shot up to 30 L/km and Im still unsure if that control valve for AC is functioning will check that at some point. Time to clean arches and sill trims.

Look while it last... I give it less than a week before something tears the spoiler off and trashes the bumper... makes it nice though! Front arches and skirts on, need a jack to remove tyres to do the rear... tomorrow

It's getting to the stage where I'd be scared to take it out on the road. Park it in a museum?

Loved the trailer too. Can't wait for the cinematography release.

My final visit to Rust-Busters to borrow the hydraulic jack and fit the arches. God bless men who own pneumatic rivet guns

    Finishing touches

While the bonnet could have done with a cut and buff, knowing weve oainted in rust and being not 100% I can deknib that at a later date, but the drivers side quarter panel had some solvent pop and while I washed the ute, Garry kindly buzzed with 1500 and spun his experienced buff to flatten iti out. Problem is, it looks sooo good, Im goingbto have to do the rest of the car at a later date. I actually like the soft orange peel, much more a modern a factory look!

Off to get our final charcoal chicken and baked veggies for lunch
