    Finishing touches with Luke

Flights booked at end of month and time to denib paint, polish and apply wax

First up the bonnet, the rest of car is near perfect so just the bonnet to cut back. Used 800 to denib and scratched a little deep, then had to use 1500 to flateen it off. Used a large woolen pad and cutting compound and after a few attempts, it came good. Teres more fine detailing to do, bt for now the car needed a wash and wax, only the second wash since painting and the 2k is nice and hard now

I can understand the GTI and the 2 but why 01?

Unless it's the number one MK2 in Australia.

I don't know if this will work on all devices as it's a wav file (hosted by Valve), but I couldn't say it better than the Aussie sniper from Team Fortress 2 .

    Bloody beaut!

    Love it!

If you want it closer to the mark, It should sound a little more "blaardy"...

Paul I really couldnt think of anything else.. the $165 3x3 numbers first, everything was taken GTI... 465 I could swap letters first, but then what number combo? Abf, mk2, etc etc, nothing worked with numbers. So I tried 201 and the 1 is shifted over someewhat without serif, so I took that... 069, 181, not my thing...

They are standard gti mk2 with bendix pads. The shop put the "old school" guy who owned a db7 aston onto my job. He was working the red xb gt on hoist. He said when he took it for a drive that he could not get the fronts to lock up. So they may completely overhaul my calipres and set thing straight. Leigh who kindly gave me door regs also pointed out the soft pedal and its now time they had some professional attention in a shop that has the equipment needed to do it.

Chris, the gentleman who took it for a testdrive thought ot was a nice little car to drive, so I hope theres a little love going into the service

You really need to fit the 256 mm disks and calipers from a 2.0 MK3. They go straight on and are a noticeable upgrade from the 239 mm disks.

Or you could go straight to the 280 mm disks and calipers off a Seat which also bolt straight on without any modifications.
