I think he failed to mention on his description that in order to make the 220, you will need one of those electric superchargers.
Nah. The gearbox is mostly likely to be built by the "suberu world rally team mate". So it would withstand the mammoth girth of 220BHP.
My friends Raddo G60 had the whole works on the engine; uprated charger, pully & chip, ported and polished head, chipped ECU, ridiculously savage cam (was almost undrivable at low rpms around town), uprated clutch etc etc and that was only making 218bhp at the wheels..... How can he say its 220bhp without a dyno print out???!!! Grade A bell end if you ask me - just like whoever buys the car/engine at that money without a dyno plot.
heres a a proper 8v eng ,never sold first time around http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=150113636747&rd=1,1
And the answer..... its running hydraulic lifters. the rev limiter is set at 6700 it can beraised if something was done its got double valve springs 283 / 283 247 / 247 11.50 / 11.50mm 3.25 / 3.25mm there the specs of the cam its a high compression racing engine with twin 45 throttle bodies ive no dyno print out but i yewst to beat porsche boxters in races and audi tt 225 Funny how he can spell compression, hydraulic, etc. but can't spell 'used to' That's probably because he's copied and pasted the spec from somewhere else, and the rest of it is written in his native muppet-ese I thought about telling him the engine would have to rev to 10+k to make that sort of power, but I really can't be bothered.
One of the guys on another forum I frequent DOES work for Prodrive on the Subaru WRC team. If you can find out who this guy is, then I may be able to get an accurate Bull****-o-meter reading
so all plausible stuff then? bad thing is if he really beleives it... like that guy with the 280bhp NA VR6 i spoke to at a meet
pmsl he deserves everything he gets maybe i shold ask him if i added racing stripes weather the bhp will increase lol
His reply:- "the guy who set the bodies up was richard from tractive solutions did i send you an email with the specs my computer crashed as i sent it last night. i can include my full stainless exhaust and my power boost valve"
and given all that technical blurb he came out with - when i ask "What's the bore and stroke please to get 2.1?" his answer "im try in to find out the bore size i know the cc is 2037 what do you mean by the stroke matt"
A power boost valve?! Surely to make that kind of power it'd have to be running 8 Cosworth fuel injectors with custom fuel rails and a high output fuel pump. Therefore it wouldn't be running a "power boost valve" but it would be running twin custom fuel pressure regulators. I wonder if he realises if you bought this car, rolling roaded at and it came back at under 220bhp at the wheels, under trading standards law he'd have to refund your monies plus pay your expenses incurred, etc, etc, etc...
