Well if the bore is 2037cc's then surely the stroke would be 1 cm?!

It's running DOUBLE valve springs?!? - Not tripple mixed spring rate titanium springs then?! I'm sure an 8v runs double valve springs as standard!

283 degree duration? Well my mates 8v that made 170bhp at the flywheel was running a Stage 4 head and 308!!! degree cam...

Twin 45 throttle boddies?! Does he mean twin 45 DCOE Carbs or QUAD 45mm throttle boddies?!

    What a goon!

I'm using an old style 8v (which is why i don't rev it any higher than 6300) with 282, pack c with lots of other stuff & usually makes 160bhp 154 torque

Get a power boost valve and you'll double that! (it would seem)

I can;t believe you guys are ****ging him off.

My driver "Wiv a GTI cam" (sic) is running at least eleventy hundred BHP cos my mates uncles wifes brother took it to his mates Rolling Road and thats what it said. So his cock and bull story head MUST be helping him to that kind of power.

    Respec'

    You knows it G!

In a 8 valve, when ya see da revs climb above 5.5k, dat is when you really feel da power kick in.

Me and my boyz rule da car parks in East, West and C untry siiiiiiiiiiide.

Obviously Gary......let's have a recap on all the 8v's that have been on here & see where we are to compare.

we know hotgolf made just over 200 with his 16v version of the 2.1 on 45's so we would expect this 8v to be less, do we agree?

Some of the 2.0 8v's on TB's have had respectable figures (can't rember the exact figure) but were they around 180?

    chrismc's old car & a few others.

So there still seams to be a huge difference between what we have seen here & what he has posted.

Even if it was a typo & was atfw then this still seems to be OTT?

At a push if it has everything he says maybe 170bhp, but if it hasn't got dyno print outs then its probably not set up propperly and making somewhere closer to 155bhp and thats before taking into account transmission lost and the actual power going through the wheels.

i`d believe 200 at the flywheel, maybe 220 if the dyno is known to be optimistic. but in reality 200 is about the limit for the 8v head due to its far from perfect design

My guess is 165bhp at the fly wheel.

How does this competition work? Does the closest to the real figure get the car?
