Next job is to remove the rear parcel shelf brackets seat rails and cross members. Grind everything down and prime the bare metal. Then get the cage fitted and remove the wiring loom before she goes off the the paint shop.

Keith from Dialynx used to, think he runs a B6 4.2 V8 now.

Looks like an interesting build this, good luck with it.

Were just building this for a bit of fun really, nothing serious.

Back at the unit tonight. Some progress, but more planning of the project really. At the moment its one long **** off shopping list. And an expensive one at that. Ring Tax:lol:

Ive started stripping down the engine ready to design the intercoler and remove the engine for a full check and rebuild. Its a new exchange lump with has had a lot of work done to it. In this spec we expect it to push out somewhere in the region of 500bhp which should be enough. But as we did not build it, its coming out and were going over it with a fine tooth combe just to be sure.

    Well the car is mine:lol:

The unit is my friends, im allowed to keep one of my cars there:thumbup:

    And wallet:lol:
Im planning to build this, including buying it for less than a second hand mondeo. No big budget build here.
I have no kids, im not married, i earn an average wage but every penny i have goes on my hobbies and my dreams. VW/Audi's and racing[8(]

Time wise im planning to have this fully built and shakedown race ready in under 4 months:thumbup:

    Then the hard work begins:thumbup:

Assume you're going for K04's or hybrids if you're aiming for 500 then? Stock S4 rods should be OK, depending on the torque I guess. What you got planned for the engine?

Yep, Modified KO4's, bigger injectors, custom fuel pump. single front mounted intercooler, race spec exhaust and solid engine mounts. And a load of other things. But keeping stock internals.

Managed to pop into the unit for a couple of hours and got a few thing done. All the boring things at the moment im afraid. Loads of brackets to remove.

What a ***** to get out. I was trying to eat Pizza at the same time tho.

Thats it until next week now. Im away racing at Brands Hatch with the VAG Trophy for the weekend. So the project is on hold. But should be full on next week.

Just started looking at these things as well but been told there not the greatest handling things but it looks like your going the right way with weight loss. Im pretty sure there is an older S2 getting broken and for sale on Pistonheads that has an RS2 engine if thats any use.

Should handle pretty well once you've stripped it out. Have you checked out Doug at MRC's build thread over on SRS?

Looks like you're both on a similar tip. He's going for some Ohlins remote reservoir coilovers, sounds expensive!
