I'm sure stripped with the right set up it will handle brilliantly. I think the reason people say that, is in road car format they have so many toys and luxury items they weigh loads and are set up to understeer. Bit of playing with ARB's and 500bhp should mean you can steer with the throttle :)

I've got an A4 quattro (1.8T S-line 6-speed car) and I dont think it understeers one bit - if anything, you can get a bit of power oversteer in the wet

Had it on a couple of trackdays and also the ring and it feels very planted - uses its tyres very evenly also

Cracking chassis if you ask me - and a great basis for a powerful race car (400hp+)

    Just a quick update.

We are still on the boring shell prep stage at the moment. I spent loads of time friday night and saturday removing more brackets from the car. Now the Seat crossmembers are out, rear seat mounting brackets, spare wheel well bracket, rear parcel shelf, rear seat belt brackets, front console bracket. Next to go is the handbrake bracket. As we are getting rid of the handbrake and having a line lock. And once the wiring loom is fully out i will be getting up behind the dash with the angle grinder to remove the last few threads and unwanted mount ponts for various things. Aslo removed a load of sound deadening from the C pillars

Plan for this week is to finish removing the wiring loom tomorrow, have the engine and gearbox out wednesday night. Remove the rain tray/front bulk head early next week. Then take the car to a friends unit for the cage build.

While the car is away Approx 2 weeks the engine will be stripped down and rebuilt. Gearbox sent off for a plate diff to be fitted up front and either a modified torsen centre diff or a tweeked RS4 unit. Once the car is back its off to the body shop for flared arches and a fresh coat of paint inside. Then the serious build work starts[:D] Sorry i ment Fun Work.;)

Going to be a busy few months me thinks.

I've had one from Machine Mart before and it was ****!
