Hi Rob, this is what we have been looking at:thumbup: Looks like an impressive bit of kit. The existing torsen diff can be modifyed the same as this one. We are looking into doing it ourselves, but depends on how much work and hassle etc.

Also we are looking for plate diff's. But cant seem to find much, any ideas?

We are working very closely with these people in the USA for chassis and drivetrain modifications, this is an option.

And this is a possible option for the rear but to be honest far too much money.

Another night on it. Made loads of progress. All the work so far has been done by myself but tonight my friend Dan gave me a hand to drop the engine out. He was in the workshop putting a lump into an A3 Quattro to free up the engine crane and saved me loads of time messing around.

Here are a load of photos.

The suspension and brakes came with the car. Its a race spec AST set up and the brakes are 380mm 6pot configuration. The rear brakes are going to be custom made, porsche boxter 4 pot calipers with 337mm RS6 2 piece discs. Hopefully this will stop here. But i do have another option in mind for the fronts but we will see how far the budget goes.

Basically the car is having a full nut and bolt strip down and rebuild with all new parts. As i said i have given myself a deadline to work to,so things should progress quickly. Finish date March 2010

    Cheers Guy's:thumbup:

Hi Dan it was from a specialist tool shop rather than some of the mainstream stockists. I will find out the make.

Right, been a busy week here to get everything ready for the cage man to do his work. Lots more shell prep and general planning of where to go and how far with the project. What started off as a bit of a toy and a laugh has turned into some thing serious.

Ive started to buy some goodies for the car and have a load of other tings on order. Seat has arrived along wheel sterring wheel, bonnet pins and a new rad. One hell of a shopping list. Just wish Santa was bringing them all.

    A couple of pics

Full stripped dash all 4 wiring looms removed ready to be splitt and all the excess removed

Everthing taped up ready for transport to cage man.

While the car is away im planning to strip the engine and gearboxs down ready for a rebuild and to fit the diffs. When it all goes back in, the chassis will get solid mounts all round as will the engine gearbox and diffs.

I think im running a week behind target now only due to other work commitments in my day job having to take priority. I hope to have the car back in 2 weeks then spend a week prepping the shell for painting. I hope to spray it my self at a friends bodyshop as i want to do as much on this project as i can.

Excellent work, painting can be interesting but if you have someone directing you with experience it will be fine!

I used to do it so it can't be that difficult!!

Looks sweet always wanted on of these , i guess you have seen the blue MRC s4, it having a bit of a expensive engine upgrade at the moment to get a fair jump in bhp, but looking forward to seeing this complete and in full race mode, MRC car is more of sprint car really

Same colour, Its just the cage and floor pan that needs doing. The rest of the paint is in good condition. The shell has only covered 40k before being dry stored for 4 years in a container.

I have just started looking at the Audi forums, SRS and 246. But ive heard of Doug@MRC and had a quick glance at the thread the other night. Not a lot of people really do much to these cars for Track use. A lot of S/RS owners go for big power but not many go extreme in a chasis build. Im not sure quiet how this project will end up but it will be one of the quickest Audi's in the UK

As far as im aware there a 2 A4 Touring cars, 3 Hillclimb cars and 1 A4 race car. Oh and 1 80 super tourer in the UK that warrant a mention. I hope someday this car will be mentioned in the same sentance as these.

I'm sure it will be very quick car Pascal, I've built a very quick mk1 TDI (poss only one) but I'm far from a quick driver [:s]

Live the dream, you build it to your own spec

Use Frosts & avoid Machine Mart. Frosts aren't too far from you for pickup?

Look forward to seeing the cage fitted Mike. Lol @ the blue saloon & estate twins sat there!

Fastest Audi i saw in proper racing was the one that races at Combe, the red one that the Reeves had the accident toying with on a track day iirc.
