And some pics of this same engine, getting some work done. Also note the offset bore, as discussed in another thread. ;)

^^John Read Race engines....wow! I used to drool over that blue mk1 with the 20v n/a motor. That engine bay really inspired my ITB build.

From the inlet, this has to be out of a Formula car, ie F3?

    What engine is it?

That's the most I've seen quoted for a Super Tourer engine: Volvo was @ 325 & the Primera was around 330 IIRC.

The 350bhp annotation refers to this pic?

Few more pics of that JRE 8v for you and a dyno print. I was blown away by this when I saw it especially as it has more power at 4500rpm than a stock 2.0 8v. Power figures are on the bench dyno (Hence stand and strange flywheel) which tends to read a bit lower than most rolling roads I've been to. I would love to turn up to a shoot out with an 8v like this and watch peoples faces as it gets nearly 220 bhp @ flywheel... If anyone wants the ultimate 8v counterflow its up for sale... Chris it sounds quite similar to my 20V motor when it comes on cam..[:D]
