I always have film nights over my mates pub and his best mate always gets some mad films. Well anyway he threw this on and I had to leave, I am all for weird films but this super wrecked me!

    Drive

A young stunt driver moonlights as a getaway driver. Gets involved with the neighbour who's husband owes some money to the bad guys. Before you know it the driver is in deep.

The film reminded me of a mid/late 80's action/thriller and something Michael Mann would make (think Heat, LA Takedown, Collateral). It does get violent towards the end but on a whole the film is well shot. Strange to see Albert Brooks who voices the clown fish in Finding Nemo as a ruthless bad guy.

I enjoyed the film but it moves along as its own pace. Worth a watch.

8 car flips out of 10.

Yeah it's in the same genre as Machete, Planet Terror etc

Bad acting, lots of famous people, loads of humour and bad special effects, it's ace [:D]

Saw this yesterday too. Loved it. Really understated, slick and stylized. 9 out of 10 from me.

I saw drive this morning. I thought it was very good as well, very slick liked the way it was filmed.
Small budget film that used the characters and story instead of big money stunts and explosions to draw you in

    9 out of 10 from me also:thumbup:

    Repo Men - 5/10

I was really quite enjoying this up until about half way, then it took a nosedive. Worth a watch if you've got nothing else to do i guess?!

finally watched bridesmaids the other day.
not as good as the hype, but was some "catch your breath" funny moments, however, as it's a comedy, there's no need for it to be over 2hrs long.

    7/10

watched Columbiana on saturday. was ok, could have been much better so I am only giving it a 5/10. if you have nothing better to do then stick it on.

saw the 'the girl' trilogy and thought the 1st one was the best, the other 2 are too long and a bit OTT.

still gotta watch Bridesmaids, Hangover 2, Friends with Benefits and Johnny English Reborn.

oh, forgot to ask, is Drive ok to watch with my sons aged 7 + 10? I dont mind FFWD a couple of scenes as long as the whole movie isnt covered in nudity/swearing.

Drive has got some really detailed violence and I wouldn't watch it with children that young, its a pretty slow film really with a real 80s feel to it so doubt it would appeal to them that much. I would have given it an 8/10 but the cars had like 8 gears and they only used about 500rpm between shifts and that bugged the hell out of me.

 agree, loved it, just need to read the book.see the original cartoon to see how true to was to the plot, as i think there was some degree of Hollywood manipulation to the story. await with patience the sequel.
