Right finally got the dash back together, had a headache trying to find somewhere to fix the top half as on the normal surround 2 screws go vertical up into the dash & this flap was removed to allow the perspex to fit right into the recess so i had a brainwave and removed the L-shaped pieces (2 of) that were once holding the lower half of the dash to the chassis (1 was next to the bonnet release lever & the other can be seen in one of the pics above to the right hand side of the drivers footwell, both needed pop rivets drilled out), i took these & fastened them along a strip of wood that was tucked just above the speedo (was tight fit so cannot move) & this then left 2 neatlly facingscrew holeswith the original clips on them (that grip screw).

I left the old ashtray bulb behind just for a laugh & it now illuminates the rear of the dash making it look like something from the Tardis :

Also noticed that the Hazard switch i had given to me looks identical to the golf one but it came from a scirroco & the switch is reversed having the triangle/bulb on the right side?

Looking good mate, but you really want to get rid of that dash!

I gave up on the stuff inside the roof. I couldn't get it off so decided to cover it up with something more "unique" instead!

Got this wire remaining & i think it's from the old aerial (wing flushed offbecause ofbee-sting) but it wont pull through the hole& i can see a metal connection at the end of it, any idea's?

Still need info on this second stage sound proofing as it seems quite hard & was wondering ifat the moment it wouldassist with strengthening/stiffening chassisuntila roll-cage is fitted?

"E" seems to have a thick layer of wax/tar that is painted over (above).

I removed this strip of soundproofing but there are holes behind it, is this OK to have stripped?

B, C, D and E are all the same, thick tar like substance that is painted over, heat or cold to remove that, heat gun and a spactular or similar, or ice cubes, wait a while and then hit with a hammer. I'm yet to have a go at my floor...

The residue left on the A=pillar I removed with some Autoglym tar remover I think. Apply it, leave it for a few mins and then you can just peel it off.

Sharpen up a wood chisel (old one) and run along the floor with that just to get most of it off, Remove any forms of ignition then tip petrol over the floor this will remove any remains of tar, Once you've cleaned up the mess wipe the floor with white spirit.
