The constant velocity that the plane is travelling at, is due to its having engines producing enough power, to maitain its constant velocity, with its areodynamic drag!

You jump, you decelerate, in a forward direction, accelerate, in a downdard direction, until you reach terminal velocity, or hit the ground![xx(]

You do not have the power in your arms to maintain flight, and you are a drag artist!;)

But Dave, why should you decelerate in the forward direction? What force is involved?
The jump is inside the plane, right?

Your (and Mr. Newton's ;)) correction was correct. [:D]

I should have stopping thinking about it there TBH, but carried on trying to imagine different situations, not necessarily "real world", but they interested me. [:$]

Bristolfish, when a Perthshire person quotes a price for an item, when the potential buyer lives in Londonshire, should it be priced at a collection rate, expecting the Londonshire resident to drive up to collect it, or be priced inclusive of postage?

If there is any residual ambiguity would you agree, as a gesture of goodwill, that a slab of Newky should be sent too?

A fine of 5 should be issued to Mr Eyre for shoddy spelling clean up practices! ;)
Or this could be waived if he covers postage on the pump.
