f*cking magnets, how do they work? seriously.. theres nothing in between, you can even put something in the way and they still transmit force. wtf??

edit: looking at your sig this is blatently how your cats works.. im expecting decent level of insight here

There are some good guides on t'internet to explain the workings of the magnet*, such as...

    http://www.coolmagnetman.com/maghow.htm

...as for "f**king magnets", I can't say, i've never heard of them. Is that something you would use in zero gravity, or something? [:s]

My cats do not use magnetis, to hover. The cheap copies that are available do. My cats are specially bred with this feature. In fact so strong is the hovering that they can drift away sometimes, I find two or three breezeblocks and a bungee cord cures this annoying habit.

*Tl;dr, it's all witchcraft. Much like mobile phones, the internet and TSC's island[:|]

if you jump on the spot whilst travelling in a moving plane, would you land in the same place you jumped from or in a new spot, due to the forward motion of the plane?

Same spot as your already moving at whatever the speed the plane is doing ;) you'd have to be in the air for a long time to really make a difference or somehow de-accelerate yourself very quickly

    Consult the Educated Monkey?

No offence intended, but, your sig.[xx(] Not the cats part either!

    Consul the Educated Monkey (Reproduction)
The original was patented in the USA in 1916. Moving Consuls feet to point to two numbers results in the answer being shown in the window between his hands. The original was supplied with cards which also enabled addition, subtraction and division to be carried out but the reproduction is not. The original was made in the USA - the reproduction does not say where it was made - it came in a cream coloured card box with transparent section in the lid.

Yes, you would land in a new spot, in relation to everything in the Universe that isn't the plane. ;)
As Dan W said you will land in the same spot, in relation to the plane.
This is because that in the moment before you jump, you are in contact with the plane, therefore are travelling with it at the same velocity. This means that when you jump you have "forward" momentum (although it doesn't feel like it), as well as vertical movement in relation to the plane (which you can feel). In the time you are airborn your "forward" momentum is decreasing, but you won't be out of contact long enough to decelerate enough to change your relative position to the plane.

I can't work out if you'd like me to change my sig, or are likening me to an educated monkey. [:s]

    Or both?

Really? I'd've thought that all the air inside the plane was travelling at the same speed as the plane. So you'll land in the same spot however long you can 'hover'. [:s]

No. Your "forward" momentum doesn't come from being pushed along by the air, it comes from being in contact with the plane.

As long as you don't come in contact with something moving at a different speed, you'll keep going at that speed.

    Trust me (and Newton). :)

They don't hover all of the time, that would be impossible. [8-}]
They only hover when you look at them, just you. That's how we know you're signed in, they start floating.
