Cheers but the reason I was asking is before I found 2 different advertisements with the same part number but the injectors appear to be 2 different shapes. So either there's a couple of variations or one of the adverts I saw had the wrong image or part number.

The injectors have the end caps, O rings, washers and filters removed in the picture.
That why it may look different to a fully assembled unit.
Part number is the same regardless with vehicle it came out from.

Ah ok. I'll try to find out now if they're still available because they're fairly local to me.

Got a 1.8T fuel rail and fpr this evening.

The head is off the engine. Just need to get it properly stripped so it can be cleaned. Then I'll move on to porting and polishing.

Still on the lookout for some injectors but I might be about to get a set in a local scrapyard next week.

Going to have a look at the wiring next week. I'll tidy it all up and clean up the drivers side of the bay a bit.

Bit of a daunting task sorting out wiring for a new loom and ecu which I haven't got yet.

Still haven't found a set of bosch red injectors.

Got the head stripped mostly tonight and started on the cleaning.
I need a decent valve spring compressor to get the valves etc out through.

    Getting there ...

Main shopping list left to get:
    New head bolts
    cams
ECU - waiting on info but it's pretty much sorted.

Bring it down to Belfast and I will pop the valves out for you free

Before anyone comes on with beating a socket, yes can be done but I have also seen lifter bores damaged this way by muppets... not good [:^(]

    As for cams
I would set the car up on Abf's which are the known best set up for these engines
before I would start into after market ones ;)
Also replace the chain with a new vag one.

As for head bolts go for the Elring ones from euro car parts part number set 300441860

As for for your GSXR throttle bodies
Not something I would have gone with, would sooner fit the mk3 injection system
or change he Ke over to K jet which is much easier to tune and work with
You will have fun and need to know your stuff to surpass either of these
with what your using ....then theres cost [:s]

Surely well set up ITBS would work better than the single plenum setup from a mk3?

Key words - Well set up [xx(]

    Also cost [:s]

    "ITBS would work better"
    Having looked at K jet / mk3 16v's
which had been done right, there would not be enough If anything in some cases for me
To use them and the cost, money would be better spent going to 20v FI.

    I had a mk3 16v which with a decat
and jetex system, chip/filter and set up right
    made 175bhp (no head work)
with good mpg and no running problems.

Thanks for the advice. Handy stuff. Definitely not going with oem cams. I have a row of oem cams sitting here, been there and done that. I might as well go bigger while i'm building it. Definitely not sticking with any 16v fueling system. Shaved bay and throttle bodies is the way this one is going. I could have easily just droped in a 20v t but wouldn't have learned anything and just wasn't the way i wanted to go.

If i don't get the valves out i'll give you a shout but i'm intending on building a valve spring remover i can use for various engines including a couple of aircooled heads i need to strip for a clean up. A friend has a good one he made so i'll do a variation of it.

By the time it's finished it'll be well set up. If not, i'll keep working at it until it is.

    2 quick questions.
Should i use a steel abf head gasket?
Would i be better off with a set of arp head bolts and studs rather than other third party bolts? I'm just sceptical as i've broke my fair share of gsf and euro car parts ball joints, bearings, and bolts.

use the steel abf head gasket and get some high compression pistons in there while you're at it, to make good use of the lairy cams

havent had a problem with the erling headbolts. seem to be a good job so far

    as per jonnycab.

Use 2.0 MLS 83.5mm head gasket.
Do not waste your money on ARP jobs. OE will be more than enough.

The bolts are not ball joints.
